Katia Occhi got a history degree in the university “Ca’ Foscari” in Venice (1995) e the doctorate in social history in the university of Milano (2001). She studied in many archives in Italy and Austria and economic history in the Istituto internazionale di storia economica “F. Datini” of Prato (2000; 2002). In 2000 was sholarship holder in Centro per gli studi storici italo-germanici/Italienisch-Deutsches Historisches Institut, part of the Istituto Trentino di Cultura, now Fondazione Bruno Kessler. In the same institution since 2001 she collaborated with the following research projects: 2001-2004 “Trento tra Nord e Sud”; 2005-2007 “Trento tra Papato e Impero. Politica economica e rapporti istituzionali” in collaboration with the university of Trento; 2008-2009 “Commercio e finanza tra Italia e Germania: istituzioni e protagonisti in area trentino tirolese (XVI-XIX secolo)”, in collaboration with the university of Trento.
During the academic years 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010 she was assistant professor of Economic History at the University of Trento (Department of Economic).
Since 2010 she is permanent researcher at Fondazione B. Kessler-Istituto storico italo-germanico.
2011-2014 - Scientific Coordinator of the co-sponsored project "The Tridentine Acts. A section of the archive of the Prince-Bishopric of Trento (16th-18th century)".
2012-2014 - Scientific Coordinator of the co-sponsored project "Fragments from the episcopal principate archive in the Manuscript Collection of Trento Municipal Library (15th-18th centuries)"
