The laboratories held by ISIG-FBK researchers are open to students of the five-year inter-university degree course in "History sciences" run jointly by the Universities of Trento and Verona as part of academic year 2012/2013 following an agreement protocol signed by the Trento Faculty of Letters and Philosophy and the Italian-German Historical Institute of the Bruno Kessler Foundation.

The essays collected in this volume explore the relationship between institutions and commerce in the eastern Alpine and pre-Alpine area – from the historical Tyrol to Carniola, from the Venetian Republic to Styria – throughout the modern era.


FBK-Isig researchers have been entrusted introduction to historical research laboratories and a historiographical topic course. The Foundation will also be in charge of organizing a lectio magistralis, in addition to more traditional educational activities, including workshops and events of international interest.
